Teachers Deserve More home grants help credentialed educators with down payment and closing-cost assistance — with expert guidance from an agent who has stood in front of a classroom too.
Submit the application below. Tell us about your teaching role, your district, and where you hope to buy.
Grant recipients purchase their home with a Teachers Deserve More Certified real estate agent. Every certified agent holds a teaching credential — they know your world — and pledges a portion of their commission back into the Foundation, which is what lets us keep funding grants. Approved grants are applied toward your down payment and/or closing costs at closing, alongside any lender, state, or district programs you qualify for.
Your agent's pledged commission share replenishes the grant fund. Your closing literally helps fund the next teacher's home.
Grant awards depend on available funding and eligibility review, and are not guaranteed. Grants stack with — and do not replace — state, local, and lender first-time-buyer programs. The Foundation is not a lender and does not provide mortgage or legal advice.
It's the engine of the whole model. Our agents are credentialed teachers who became real estate professionals. When they represent you, a portion of their commission is pledged back to the Foundation — multiplying every donor dollar into more grants for more teachers. You get an advocate who understands a teacher's budget, schedule, and paycheck calendar; the Foundation gets sustainability.
This is the first step — it takes about five minutes. We'll follow up by email with next steps and document requests. Please don't include Social Security numbers or full financial account numbers in this form.
